Mini Haul // We Dream In Colour & Sanianitos

Moar shoppeeeeeng!

Since I can remember, jewellery line We Dream In Colour has been on my radar. Trinidadian-raised designer, Jade Gedeon, does lovely, delicate jewellery. She’s sold her jewellery all over the world, including in Urban Outfitter locations.

Taken from the We Dream In Colour Website:

We Dream in Colour is a collection of hand made adornments designed by Jade Gedeon. Our company launched in 2002 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Sydney, Australia (in 2005) before moving to our current location (in 2007) on the North Shore of Boston. We operate two studios in Essex and Salem which are both powered by an awesome team of women. From small to big we take as many steps as we can to minimize our environmental impact and operate in a socially conscious fashion.

So when I learned via Instagram that Jade was in Trinidad with her pieces I had to go and have a look at this jewellery that I’ve only ever admired from afar. I was like a kid in a candy store. I literally was moving from shelf to shelf…just bamboozled by options. Her work is so lovely…it really has this antiqued, other worldly feel about it. She has jewellery in brass, copper and pewter, amongst other materials. Enough talk though! Onto the pictures!

Jade is in the country until the 15th of March, so if you’re interested in viewing/purchasing some of her work, you can email her at jade@wedreamincolour.com to arrange a visit.

Then on Sunday, the shopping bug bit me. After buying these We Dream In Colour necklaces, I was like ‘Ouuuu, layering’ so I decided I needed a body chain from my friend Sanian Lewis, who designs and creates for the brand Sanianitos. Her jewellery is available at Meiling‘s 6, Carlos location. Currently, there’s also a cANYAval Pop Up Shop happening at 6, Carlos, which includes work by Anya x 1ndividual, Anya x SAYSM, Keisha Als (last minute Monday Wear folks) and Liilah. There are still some Lush Kingdom pieces available too – cute bandeau tops and shorts. And of course…Meiling’s M.E. Carnival collection. So it’s definitely worth a trip if you’re hunting for any Carnival goodies.

This is the body chain I ended up getting:

Cute right? Yeah…I’ve been wearing it to work (because it’s Carnival…so low meh) and getting a lot of compliments. Yay for compliments.

If I don’t post before then (and let’s be real…I probably won’t) be sure to have a happy and SAFE Carnival. I’ll check in with you all after the festivities are over.

For more day to day updates, be sure to follow me on Instagram @CeolaB – way more action happens there, far more regularly, oops!

Love ya bishes!
